An Engineer's Open-Sourced Skills Repository

Claude Code / Skills◆ Advanced@startscalr_sohumsaved MAY 12

◇ Could this help me?

Yes for the content, no for installing it on reputation. A published set of engineering-discipline skills from a known educator is a genuinely useful thing to read, and the categories chosen, structured questioning, test-driven development, diagnosis, triage, and architecture improvement, map to real practice rather than to content marketing. What to reject is the reasoning: trust this guy and install the whole thing with one command is not a safety argument, and a skills repository is instruction content that will run against your code base. There is also a practical reason to be selective, since every installed skill contributes its description to every conversation, so a whole repository costs context permanently. General practice, and the right approach is reading the two or three skills that match your work and installing those.

I am considering a published skills repository rather than writing my own. Before anything is installed, show me what is actually in it: list each skill, what it instructs, what files or commands it touches, and whether any of it runs code or reaches the network. Then tell me which two or three match the work I describe below and which are irrelevant to me, since every installed skill costs context on every conversation. Install only the ones I approve, individually, rather than the whole repository. Afterwards, tell me honestly which of them I could have written myself in ten minutes, so I know what I am actually gaining.
