Keep AI Design Consistent: A design.md the Agent Must Follow

UI/UX DesignIntermediateAdvanced@build.greatproductssaved JUL 06

◇ Could this help me?

Yes for the pattern, with the product judged separately. An in-repo, agent-readable design system (design.md plus design.html) backed by a CLAUDE.md rule is a sound, tool-independent way to stop design drift, the same repo-context discipline that makes CLAUDE.md files work, and it is adoptable today with plain prompts. The builder-os.dev design-system skill is the creator's own product being promoted (a real conflict of interest) and an unvetted third-party skill, so it adds nothing the pattern needs and would require research-first, approval-gated install before any use. General practice for any project where agents produce UI.

Set up an agent-readable design system for this project without installing anything. First, interview me briefly about the brand: style references, colors, typography, spacing, and the feel the product should have. Then generate two files: design.md with the design tokens and component guidelines written as rules an agent can follow, and design.html as a living style guide rendering each token and component. Finally, draft a short rule for CLAUDE.md requiring every agent session to follow the design system and to update both files whenever a new component is added. Present all three for approval before writing anything into the repo.
